The Science of SONNI

Where High-Performance Suncare Meets Skincare

Sonni Skin

The SONNI Difference

Mineral-based SPF has always been the smarter pick for your skin and the planet, but it's never felt super wearable.

That's because most formulas use zinc powder, which is less potent and requires more zinc to achieve real protection (this is where the white cast comes from).

At SONNI, we start with pure zinc to create a more potent zinc oxide, so you can get high SPF that blends in seamlessly.

Our formulas are lightweight, skin-friendly, and boosted with barrier-supporting actives. UV still stresses skin even with SPF, so we built in recovery, too.

SONNI is the full cycle of care: defend, restore, repeat. Every day, all year.

Mineral vs. Chemical: The Facts

Mineral Protection (Our Choice)

Creates a physical barrier that reflects UV rays away from your skin.

  • No wait time after rubbing it in
  • Gentle even on sensitive skin
  • Stays on the skin's surface
  • Reef-safe

Chemical Sunscreen

Synthetic filters absorb UV rays and release them into the skin as heat.

  • Suggested application 15 - 20 mins before exposure
  • More likely to cause irritation
  • Ongoing research suggests some filters absorb into bloodstream
  • Certain ingredients have been linked to reef damage
